The US House of Representatives, along with other Legislative Branch procurement offices, are hosting a Legislative Branch Industry Day on June 27, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the U.S. Capitol Visitors Center in the Congressional Auditorium. This event is for contractors interested in doing business with the legislative branch and is open to any business. Acquiring goods and services at the best possible value is the goal of the Office of Acquisitions Management. To accomplish this, the office works with Members, Committees, Leadership, and House Officers to assess their needs and fulfill their requirements. The office is committed to excellence, integrity, fairness, accountability, and innovation on behalf of its customers and in support of their missions.

The Office of Acquisitions Management is comprised of three groups: Purchasing, Contracts, and Office Supply & Gift Shop.

• Purchasing: Purchasing Agents process purchases for Members, Committees and House Officers.  Purchasing Agents also process certain dollar threshold orders for equipment for CAO units.
• Contracts: Contracts Specialists are aligned by customer or program office and include Members, Committees and House Officers. Their goal is to provide an acquisition program that is fair, competitive and accountable, and to obtain the best value for the House.  They negotiate contracts from office supplies to complex IT solutions with vendors and ensure those contracts meet House needs.  Contracts Specialists also provide training in procurement topics.
• Office Supply & Gift Shop: The Office Supply Service provides goods and services to assist all House offices and the Gift Shop provides souvenirs and gifts to Members, staff and the public.
