NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT-  802^nd CONS on Lackland AFB, San Antonio , Texas, intends to solicit and award a sole source contract to LEGO Dacta and Pitsco dba LEGO Education, 917 E Jefferson,  Pittsburgh, KS 66762-6012 to purchase LEGO Educaion robotic equipment and accessories.  This sole source requirement meets the conditions of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1); only one responsible source has been identified as reasonably available to provide the supplies that will satisfy the agency requirements.  LEGO Dacta and Pitsco dba LEGO Education is the only known manufacturer and distributor that can provide the necessary equipment, as it is a proprietary system. No other brand will be compatible with the current cleaning equipment to ensure continuity and uniformity; therefore, the parts must be purchased from the manufacturer, LEGO Dacta and Pitsco dba LEGO Education. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids, quotes, or proposals.  The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 339932 and the Small Business size standard is 500.  This will be a firm fixed price contract.  The purchase of this requirement includes the following:

CLIN 0002- Green City Challenge Combo Pack Product ID: W999594

Interested parties are required to provide the above brand name requirements.  The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice.  A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.  This synopsis does not constitute a solicitation, however all responsible sources that believe they can meet all of the requirements may submit a quote, which shall be considered.  If no responses are received by 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, 11 September 2012, a Sole Source contract will be pursued with LEGO Dacta and Pitsco dba LEGO Education.
