Librarian – Union City Public Library: Under general supervision, oversees a variety of library services in one or more functional areas of a library or library system requiring substantial professional knowledge of and experience with librarianship theories, principles and practices; supervises the library staff, services, programs and operations of a branch library including program planning; may assist in the development and planning of the library budget and funding along with controlling library expenditures; may assist in the hiring of personnel (both professional and non-professional); oversees library personnel by supervising their work, work schedules, etc; other related duties as required. The position requires a Master’s degree in Library or Informational Science in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey college Master’s program in Library Science acceptable by Thomas Edison State College.
