The project includes improvements to the Township’s Lions Pride Park (formerly known as Twin Oaks Park). Improvements include grading, installation of a rain garden, a “Kid’s Mountain” with miscellaneous play equipment, Little Mountain, a proposed sitting area called “The Grove,” multiple park amenities and a partial trail. Also included are the final grading, seeding and installation of landscaping, and provisions for all necessary erosion and sedimentation control. In addition, the project includes a number of potential alternate/add-on items that will be considered by the Township during the review of bid proposals. Those items include additional playground equipment and landscaping/hardscaping for multiple sections of the park. These alternate/add-on items will be considered by the Township during review of the bid proposals. The Township reserves the right, at their discretion, to select any/all, or combination, of the potential alternate/add-on items for the purpose of awarding this Contract for this project. This is a rebid of a previous Lions Pride Project with a reduced scope of work. The bidder is advised that a pre-bid site meeting will be held for this project. Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend a pre-bid meeting on the following date(s) and time(s): 1. Thursday, June 27, 2019 - 10:00 AM 2. Tuesday, July 2, 2019 - 2:00 PM During these times, the project will be discussed and questions from prospective bidders answered. Bidders who do not attend assume the risk of their bids potentially not properly addressing this request for solicitations. All bids must include lump sum or unit prices to be considered for award by the Township, at their option, after review of the bid amounts. Bids must be made on the forms furnished by the Township and must be accompanied by a certified check, bank draft or bid bond issued by a surety company licensed to conduct business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in the amount of at least ten percent (10%) of the total price bid made payable to the Township. The bidder’s attention is called to the fact that this project has received a Grant from the Department of Natural Resources and the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act and the Pennsylvania Public Works Employment Verification Act apply to this Contract if the estimated cost of the project is in excess of $25,000. The successful bidder shall pay no less than the wage rates determined for the project area as set forth in the Contract Documents. The successful bidder must also ensure that employees and applicants for employment are (a) not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin, or on any other basis on which discrimination is prohibited by any applicable federal, state or local laws and, (b) legally authorized to work in the United States.
