The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Air Combat Electronics Program Office (PMA-209), intends to award a hybrid Firm-Fixed-Priced (FFP)/Cost-Plus-Fix-Fee (CPFF) contract to BAE Systems Information and Electronics Systems. The contract is for procurement of the Low Probability of Intercept Altimeter (LPIA) Weapons Replaceable Assemblies (WRA) for the production, engineering, anomaly resolution and operational support of the LPIA Receiver/Transmitter (RT) for the CV-22, CH53K, E-2D, E-2C/C-2A, and P-3C platforms.
This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. Section 2304(c) (1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." Unless otherwise stated herein, no formal request for proposal or additional written information is currently available. A determination by the Government not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. This synopsis is published for information purposes only. But all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by NAVAIR.
As BAE Systems Information and Electronics Systems is the only manufacturer that has the technical data, unique logistics support experience, and detailed knowledge/familiarity with the LPIA RT requirements to provide the required support within the required time frames.
