The Social Security Administration (SSA) will negotiate exclusively with NCS Technologies, Inc. to extend an existing Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for laptops, peripheral equipment, and installation services. The proposed action will include three (3) six-month options, each of which will serve as a stopgap measure, as needed, while the agency prepares a longer, competitive, five-year vehicle to replace the current BPA.

Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 8.405-6, Federal Supply Schedules (FSS) - Limiting Sources, provides that orders placed or BPAs established under the FSS are exempt from the competition requirements in FAR Part 6; however, the agency is further restricting consideration pursuant to FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B) - Only one source is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services are unique or highly specialized.
