The Centers for Disease Control and prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to FEI Company, 5350 N.E. Dawson Creek Dr., Hillsboro, OR 97124-5793. This is for maintenance for TECANI12BT, TEM TECHNAI, SN: D283, to include ACCY, AMT CAMERA. The instrumetation to be serviced is of high level complexity and generally beyond component level repair. All major electronic, electro mechanical, mechanical, and optical assemblies, subassemblies, and modules for this instrument are proprietary and only available from the OEM, FEI provides service training and installation on this instrument; Engineering upgrades and modification are only available from FEI; all software and firmware of this instrumentation is proprietary to FEI and not licensed to outside parties. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 (for actions over $150k) 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received by 03/07/2014 will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
