The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), Bethesda, Maryland, intends to negotiate an option year maintenance agreement contract with three option years, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR Part 13.106 (b), with Canberra Industries, Inc., for a Lynx Multi-Channel Analyzer System. This maintenance agreement will be procured as a commercial item in accordance with the procedures in FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) and FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures). The sole source determination is based on Canberra Industries, Inc. being the sole source for factory trained labor and technical services for all instrumentation manufactured and sold by Canberra Industries, Inc. The period of performance for the required maintenance agreement commences on November 1, 2008 and ends October 31, 2009.

Sources interested in responding to this requirement must be able to provide compelling evidence that they can obtain/provide a maintenance agreement contract for Canberra’s Lynx Multi-Channel Analyzer System.
