The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order to Sakura Finetek U.S.A., Inc., 1750 West 214th Street, Torrance, CA 90501, for annual full service maintenance, to include unlimited emergency visits and one (1) PM visit per year: one (1) Prisma Stainer/6130, S/N: 61300409; one (1) Linked G2 Coverslipper/6500, S/N: 65000053; one (1) Xpress/7100, S/N: 71000096; one (1) VIP 5/5215, S/N: 52151399; one (1) Autowrite Slide Printer/8031, S/N: 80310198; one (1) Linked Unload Station/8033, S/N: 80331156; one (1) Autowrite Slide Printer/8031, S/N: 80311122; one (1) Linked Unload Station/8033, S/N: 80331648; and one (1) AutoTEC/7000, S/N: 70000516. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source will satisfy the Agency's requirements because this is the only service that can meet the requirements for preventive maintenance. Anyone other than Sakura Finetek U.S.A, Inc. authorized personnel attempting to repair or service the equipment would exclude Sakura Finetek U.S.A., Inc. from their obligations. No solicitation is being issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which, if received by the response date, shall be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the Government.
