This is a Notice of the Intent to Sole Source the maintenance and service contract for the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Marine Meteorology Division (MMD) Cray supercomputer XE6m (Serial number 4223) and associated equipment for the period of 5/7/2017 through 11/6/2017 with four (4) one year options to Cray Inc., St. Paul, MN. Services will include "Gold" level (five day per week and nine hours per day (5x9) next business day (NDB)) support service coverage renewal for:

Hardware (HW) and software (SW) maintenance for the Cray XE6m.

SW maintenance for the PBS Pro Upgrade to the XE6m.

HW/SW maintenance on one cabinet upgrade with Istanbul Processors for the XE6m.

Storage upgrades maintenance for the XE6m.

Cray Inc. is the only specialized computer company that manufactures the hardware upgrades, develops the software upgrades, and employs the specialized personnel with the proper training, equipment, and security clearances to service NRL MMD's XE6m supercomputer.
