B. Products & Performance Required- CLARIFICATION

The Medical Materiel Enterprise Standardization Offices (MMESO) has received several questions from vendors on the estimated annual dollar requirement of $10,358,864.65 as posted in the Federal Business Opportunity (FBO)ME-1108-55 Mask Particulate Respirator (N95).The Mask Particulate Respirator (N95) product line has the potential to see large swings in usage based upon pandemic events, establishment and maintaining stockpiles of personal protective equipment(PPE), humanitarian aid and funding. The MMESO reviewed two separate usage data sets and both usage data sets contained large volumes of purchases within this product line during the first quarter of fiscal year (FY) 2010 and first quarter FY 2011. This purchasing pattern has repeated for the last two years but, for the reason stated above may not follow the same pattern in the future. If fluctuations in procurement are not included in annual volume, remaining procurement was historically in the vicinity of $800K during the 12-month period.
