This synopsis is issued in accordance with FAR 5.101(a)(1) and FAR 5.207. This proposed action is for the procurement of Medtronic's ACDF spinal implant systems.
The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
This proposed procurement will be a sole source award under North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 339113: Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing. Business size standard for NAICS 339113 is 500 employees. PSC code: 6515 - Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment and Supplies.

The quantities identified above are default quantities reflected in the price quotation submitted by Medtronic Inc, and the
quantities have been confirmed by the user at the hospital.
The proposed source is Medtronic, 710 Medtronic Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55432-5603.
This procurement will not be competed because the aforementioned Medtronic implant and planting system is currently the only implant system that the surgeon is trained for all procedures.
The Government will award a contract to the responsible Offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation and is most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. Technical Capability and Price will be used to evaluate all offers.
