The National Institutes of Health, Office of Logistics and Acquisition Operations (OLAO), Office of Acquisitions (OA), on behalf of the National Eye Institute (NEI) intends to solicit a fixed price contract via FAR 13.5 with Metabolon, Inc., to perform a non-targeted metabolomics evaluation of participants aged 55 and older who were enrolled in the randomized controlled clinical trial Age-Related Eye Disease Study 2 (AREDS2 [2006 to 2012]) with varying severity of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) at baseline and followed longitudinally.  Approximately 1,897 samples will be evaluated.  This is a follow-on to the pilot study 75N98021P02397 conducted by Metabolon, Inc.

The anticipated period of performance is 12 months from date of award.
