Provide support services for a Equipment Laboratory Manager from August 17, 2009 through July 30, 2010 in support of the BNL Energy Science Department.  This will be a Time and Material contract for 700 hours.  Specifically, the job tasks are as follows:

1.  Prepare and update the Experimental Safety Review Forms for the Metal Hydride and Lithium Battery Projects.

2.  Participate as the representataive of these research groups, in the annual safety review and experimental walk-through for the Metal Hydride Project and Lithium Battery Projects conducted by the Facility Manager of EENS.

3.  Keep all documentation and required information for our X-ray Diffractometer in Lab C-6 of Building 815 up to date as set forth in the pertinent SMBS subject area.

4.  Address all safety violations and concerns resulting from Tier 1 Inspections and any other safety matters arising on a day-to-day basis for the Metal Hydride and Lithium Battery Programs.

5.  Provie technical oversight to post docs and BNl professional staff on the features and operation of major research equipment and facilities in Laboratories C-21 and C-6 in Building 815 for the Metal Hydride and Lithium Battery Projects.

6.  Keep all major research instruments in Laboratories C-2 and C-6 in Building 815 and operational and regularly maintained.

7.  Perform as needed in conducting experimental work for both the Metal Hydride and Lithium Battery Programs and also in the interpretation of the experimental results.
