Army Contracting Command – Rock Island (ACC-RI) is seeking for possible sources of supply for the acquisition of metal parts for the end item M8 Smoke Pot in support of Pine Bluff Arsenal.

BACKGROUND OF M8 SMOKE POT:

The M8 is a burning type smoke pot used to generate white smoke.  It has a thin sheet metal cylindrical body, approximately 12 inches in diameter and 13.5 inches in height.  The M8 Smoke Pot Metal Part kits include a double rolled seam can (or body), two lid (cover) assemblies with handles, a threaded fuze adapter, stamped plug closure, metal clamp, gasket, and coordinating hardware.  Parts are manufactured in a variety of methods including stamping, forming, machining, and welding.

The metal parts required are the container, inner cover, and outer cover for the M8 smoke pot and shall be in accordance with the following drawing/specifications:

1. Container in accordance with Drawing 36-2-226 Rev N dated 29 June 2021, Dash No. 10 or Dash No. 30.  Option 2 includes Drawing Part No. -1 through -4.

                    a) –10 BODY, CRIMPED DESIGN: STEEL SHEET, CARBON, COLD ROLLED, COMMERCIAL STEEL (CS), TYPE B, .024 INCH NOM THICKNESS.

                     b) –30 BODY, DRAWN DESIGN: STEEL SHEET, CARBON, COLD ROLLED, DRAWING STEEL (DS), .024 INCH NOMINAL THICKNESS

                     c) –20 is not applicable for this requirement.

                     d) Drawings specifications from -10 and -30 cannot be combined/interchanged to produce the item.

2. Inner cover and components in accordance with Drawing 36-2-227 Rev G and the following components:

                      a) Inner Cover, P/N: 36-2-228, quantity 1 each, Drawing 36-2-228 Rev G
                         Gasket, P/N: 36-2-225, quantity 1 each, Drawing 36-2-225 Rev E
                         Handle, P/N: 36-2-133, quantity 1 each, Drawing 36-2-133 Rev L

3. Outer cover and components in accordance with Drawing 36-2-128 Rev L and the following components
