The Department of Labor, Mine Safety & Health Administration, intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(i)(B)(C) - Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, to Mettler-Toledo, Inc., Toledo Scales & Systems, 1900 Polaris Parkway, Columbus, OH 43240-4035 for service contract that covers two (2) comprehensive service visits per year and all labor and travel expenses during the visits. The services received for each of 16 balances covered by the contract during the visits include: internal and external cleaning of balance; adjustment of linearity, eccentricity, and sensitivity; lubrication and adjustment of internal parts and drive motors; adjustments to manufacturer's specifications using Mettler-Toledo proprietary LARS software & calibration sticker. These balances are located at USDOL - MSHA - Pittsburgh Safety and health Technology Center, 626 Cochrans Mill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. This action will result in a firm fixed price contract. The period of performance will commence on or about April 1, 2013 for a twelve (12) month period ending March 31, 2014. The NAICS code for this requirement is 333997 with a size standard of 500 employees. This Notice of Intent to award a sole source contract is not a request for competitive proposals.
