The Library of Congress (Library) Preservation Services Division (PSD) is responsible for providing continued access to at risk materials in microform format, which includes microfilm and microfiche. Some of the Library's microforms include monographs, serials, and other printed works. PSD is seeking a Contractor that can provide duplicated copies of microforms and provide microfilm processing of exposed film. These duplication and processing services will ensure that the Library’s collections are in a stable, archival-quality state, available for researchers, digitization, and additional replication services as applicable. With some of the existing raw 35-millimeter microfilm in a damaged or fragile state, and approximately 500 feet of raw microfilm to process, this is a critical component of the requirement and the work of PSD as a whole. While PSD is capable of providing some onsite printing of exposed microfilm to ensure that little to no collection materials are lost to degradation, there is limited capacity to meet the full extent of the need. In addition to the microfilm mentioned above, a selection of approximately 700 sheets of 105-millimeter microfiche and 5,000 reels of microfilm will be duplicated under this contract.
