The contractor shall perform the effort necessary to bring the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane on-line as a user of the SAIL system. The short term solution for NSWC Crane SAIL capability requires GDAIS to assist in the transition of the SAIL database and all pertanent data to NSWC Crane SAIL instance. This effort is required to support the move of Logistics responsibilities for selected Launcher support equipment from Northrop Grumman, Sunnyvale, CA to NSWC Crane. Effort required to accomplish this task includes establishing a program plan, providing input into the Crane transition plan, setting up network connectivity to GDAIS, setting up a SAIL platform at GDAIS, assisting with one series of data extraction, data load, data conversion, data validation, and data cleanup. System administration and user support will be provided through the first data extraction. The short term NSWC Crane database shall be hosted on the SP23-owned production server resident in Pittsfield, MA. Connectivity shall be provided through SWSNET and the existing external Citrix infrastructure at GDAIS.
This effort will be accomplished for one of the data extractions, loads, etc. in FY 11 and FY12. The remainder will be completed in FY12 and FY13 and will be accomplished under separate funding.
Negotiations will be conducted with General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS), Pittsfield, MA. GDAIS is the sole manufacturer of the TRIDENT (II) D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) Fire Control System and Attack Weapons Control System (AWCS) and the only source with the in-depth knowledge, expertise, and in-place capability to perform the required effort.
