The USDA, Agricultural Research Service in Albany, California has a requirement for a personal sequencer system single integrated instrument to perform clonal amplification, sequencing, and data analysis (base calling, alignment, variant calling, and reporting) that does not require emulsion PCR. Must support read lengths of at least 250bp. Greater than 5 gigabases of high quality (with Q score greater than 30) sequence per run. Must provide support for paired-end reads and support for barcoding/multiplexing of samples. Must be able to perform RNA sequencing (mRNA and small RNA) in addition to whole genome and amplicon sequencing applications.
