It allows food producers to design processing and handling practices to ensure microbiological safety of their products. PMP is extensively used by food manufactures, regulatory agencies, and research institutes. It has also been used in high schools and universities for educational and teaching purposes. The PMP was downloaded 5,000 times every year and routinely used by 30% of the food industry. The PMP is the most widely used product of this type. It is used throughout the world to help food companies comply with food safety regulations and to reduce the risk of human illness from their products through better process and food product design. Anticipated date of award is September 17, 2014. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely at the discretion of the Government in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b).
