This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 5.101(a)(1) requiring the dissemination of information on proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract, and is not a request for competitive proposals. The proposed contract is for supply, installation, maintenance and emergency repair of the Land Mobile Radio Trunking System in Diego Garcia. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), pursuant to the statutory authority of 41 U.S.C. 1901 as implemented by FAR Subpart 13.501(a)(1). Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.

The 36th Contracting Squadron, Andersen AFB, Guam intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Motorola Solutions Inc, 7031 Columbia Gateway Drive, 3rd Floor, Columbia, MD 21046 to install and integrate a MOTOBRIDGE dispatch solution into the existing system at the Command Post in Diego Garcia.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet all aspects of the requirement. Responses should be addressed to the 36 CONS Point of Contact: SSgt George Halley at email: [email protected] not later than 15:00 Chamorro Standard Time 23 September 2014 expressing interest and outlining their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
