Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, MD anticipates awarding to Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) contracts in fiscal year 2015 for the MQ-8C VTUAV air vehicle systems and ancillary equipment production, logistics support, integration and testing, operational test support, supplies and support necessary to operate, maintain and sustain the MQ-8C air vehicle. The MQ-8C configuration will utilize current MQ-8 infrastructure including software, avionics, landing system and control systems at sea and ashore. Intent is to support deployments in 2017. NAVAIR intends to negotiate this effort on a sole source basis with NGC, San Diego, CA.

This procurement will be under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Services may be deemed to be available only from one responsible source when it is likely that award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition. (FAR 6.302-1).
