As posted in the Source Sought Synopsis HSCG40-11-S-11900, entitled; "MTU W6 ENGINE REMANUFACTURING" dated 02/02/2011, the U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center, PBPL Product Line, will be issuing a solicitation for the remanufacturing of propulsion units; MTU Friedrichshafen diesel engine model 8V396TE94, installed on 87' WPB Coast Guard Cutter Class. It is anticipated that a firm fixed price, Requirements contract containing one (1) Base Year and four (4) Option Years will be awarded using the procedures outlined in FAR Part 15.101-2.

It is the Government's intent to solicit this requirement as a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS 333618. This requirement must be completed utilizing only genuine MTU Friedrichshafen parts from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Remanufactured or Aftermarket parts are not acceptable.

The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps on or about April 10, 2011. This date is estimated at best, and it is the contractor's responsibility to monitor FedBizOpps on a regular basis for the solicitation and any amendments.
