The Department of Veterans Affairs Pittsburgh, University Drive Division is seeking a contractor to furnish labor, transportation and storage of durable medical equipment as necessary. The cost of transportation shall be borne by the contractor to and from the patients home. Areas for deliveries will include Western Pennsylvania, Southeast Ohio, and West Virginia. Along with delivery of equipment to the veterans residence, it shall be properly assembled and tested. All deliveries shall be made within 24 hours after notification. All equipment must be manufacturer tested at a maximum of 250 lbs. All contractor's submitting proposals in response to this solicitation must have a service center physically located in the geographical area in which they will provide service and have maintained residency in this center for a minimum period of 3 years. Offerors responding to this solicitation shall be accredited from JCAHO, CHAPS or other accredited agencies. Contract term for the base year shall be effective May 1, 2002 and continue through September 30, 2002 with 2 one year renewals at the Government's option.
