. Statement of Work: Request provide services of a Qualified Marine Contractor to accomplish followings : To remove existing crane on portside, 04 Level an install GFM new crane as per attached WI. The reference drawing will be provided separately. On completion fo installation, crane to be tested in presence of ABS, testing should incl. Personel carrying in RHIB. 1.0 ABSTRACT This item describes the removal of the Allied TB 9-37 crane and installation of the Government Furnished Allied TB 30-35 crane and steel structural modifications. 2.0 REFERENCES 2.1 MSC Drawing 120-7490530, Rev. -, Allied TB 30-35 Crane Installation 3.0 ITEM LOCATION/DESCRIPTION 3.1 Location/Quantity 3.1.1 Location: 04 Level, Fr 40-42, Stbd 3.1.2 Quantity: One stores crane 3.2 Item Description/Manufacturer's Data: None 4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/MATERIAL/SERVICES 4.1 Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) Crane, Allied Systems Company Model TB 30-35, complete, with hydraulic power pack 4.2 Government Furnished Material (GFM): None 4.3 Government Furnished Services (GFS) An Allied Systems Company Technical Representative to provide assistance during installation and testing 4.4 Government Furnished Information (GFI): None 5.0 NOTES 5.1 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier, must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this work item. In performance of this work item, the contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier, must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTRs, including, but not limited to, GTRs 1 through 7, 22, 24, 25, 26, 28, and 29. 5.2 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier, are advised to review other Work Items under this contract to determine their effect on the work required under this Work Item. 5.3 The MSCREP will provide instructions regarding the storage and/or disposal of the removed TB 9-37 Crane and attachments. 6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: None additional 7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED 7.1 Arrangement/Outfitting: None additional 7.2 Structural 7.2.1 Removals a. Remove the Allied TB 9-37 Crane and Pedestal foundation on the 04 Level just aft of Frame 41, including the tripping brackets, using Reference 2.1 as guidance. b. Remove the two 12-inch deep beams with chocks between Longitudinals 16 and 17 just aft of Frame 41 above the 03 Level passage, using Reference 2.1 as guidance. 7.2.2 Installations a. Install one W12x50 I/T beam and two 20.4# chocks between Longitudinals 16 and 17 below the 04 Level in line with the aft edge of the GFE crane pedestal, using Reference 2.1 as guidance. b. Install the GFE Allied TB 30-35 Crane and pedestal, using Reference 2.1 as guidance. c. Install four 20.4#, 16”x16” tripping brackets and four 20.4#, 6 1/2”x6 1/2” tripping brackets, using Reference 2.1 as guidance. d. Install two 20.4#, 6”x9” doubler plates on the outboard sides of Longitudinals 16 and 17 where the longitudinals intersect the forward half of the GFE crane pedestal, using Reference 2.1 as guidance. 7.3 Mechanical/Fluids: None additional 7.4 Electrical Modifications/Relocations 7.4.1 Disconnect power cable LSTSGU-50, circuit 12-AP17, from the crane pedestal, pull back below 04 Level deck, and cap existing penetration, using Reference 2.1 as guidance. 7.4.2 Relocate (reroute and connect) the LSTSGU-50 cable, circuit 12-AP17, to the power connection box 38 inches above the deck on the inboard side of the new GFE Crane pedestal, using Reference 2.1 as guidance. 7.4.3 Relocate cables currently attached to the forward 12-inch deep beam to be removed in paragraph 7.2.1.b and attach to existing transverse beam at Frame 41. 7.5 Electronics: None additional 7.6 Preparation of Drawings/Documentation 7.6.1 Prepare working drawings to accomplish the requirements of this Work Item. 7.6.2 Develop a detailed Test Procedure to accomplish testing of the crane. 7.6.3 Submit a copy of the test procedure developed in paragraph 7.6.2 to the MSCREP, ABS, and Coast Guard Inspectors for review and approval prior to accomplishing any testing. 7.6.4 Submit reports to the MSCREP, ABS, and US Coast Guard inspectors listing the results of all tests. 7.7 Inspection/Test 7.7.1 Post-installation non-destructive testing (NDT) 7.7.2 Operational crane test 7.7.3 Weight crane test which includes personnel. 7.7.4 Post-crane testing NDT 7.7.5 Cable insulation resistance test 7.7.6 Enclosure ground test 7.8 Painting 7.8.1 Paint all new and disturbed surfaces to match surrounding surfaces. 7.8.2 Paint the upper and lower 12 inches of the Crane platform access ladder, stringer, and rungs with “Safety Yellow.” 7.9 Markings Install name plates, notices, and markings for all new and modified systems. 7.10 Manufacturer’s Representative The government will furnish the services of an Allied Systems Company Technical Representative to provide technical assistance and advice to the MSCREP during the installation and testing of the Crane. 8.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: None additional 2. Vessel Availability: Presently, however, Contractor must always keep in mind that USNS Mercy is a Hospital Ship and with exception of periodic 4-6 weeks Voyage repair periods, must be able to sail away to action within five (5) days when so ordered by Navy.
