The US Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) at Picatinny Arsenal is seeking sources for an automated and universal nano- mechanical property measurement equipment for characterizing solid surfaces and thin films. Mechanical properties of interest include but are not limited to the study of elastic-plastic deformation behavior, hardness, Young's modulus of elasticity, scratch resisance, residual stresses, fracture toughness, fatigue, and microstructural heterogeneities. The equipment should be capable of in situ imaging and demonstrate ease of operation and data analysis.
