The NeuroNexus probes will be used for chronic implant that are compatible with electrophysiology rig already in use in the lab, which possess evenly spaced electrode sites to provide comprehensive coverage of the hippocampus. The microelectrodes are needed for recording in vivo neural activity from rodents. The electrode sites must be spaced at a max of 25um apart to provide sufficient spatial resolution such that data can be used for a current source density analysis. These probes are created using state-of-the-art microfabrication and packaging technologies, meaning each probe's mechanical, geometric and electrical characteristics are extremely precise and highly reproducible. For on-going research compatibility and consistency with the existing electrophysiology rig is crucial to maintain accurate results in research.
The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 334510 "Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing" and a Size Standard of 1250.
