The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), proposes to enter into a sole source/noncompetitive procurement with the American Geographical Society (AGS), under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Certain Commercial Items per FAR 13.501. This Firm Fixed Price (FFP) purchase order is being acquired via FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in conjunction with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The membership entitles NGA to an agreement with the Foundation, by which, the Strategic Partner Member works closely with the Foundation’s membership and staff to create special programs designed to enhance NGA’s ability to achieve its mission.
The AGS is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) tradecraft, as well as creating stronger ties between government, industry, and academic organizations that use and develop GEOINT for national security objectives. AGS is also a major proponent of GEOINT education throughout all levels of education and offers student’s scholarship opportunities to pursue GEOINT research initiatives. As the government lead for GEOINT, NGA and AGS share a common and unique interest in a single tradecraft. NGA’s membership to AGS allows NGA senior leaders to better interact with the GEOINT industry professionals and vice versa through attendance at the annual Geography 2050, where government, military, industry, and academic professionals attend.
No competition is being sought. The Period of Performance will be for one (1) year from contract award.
