The Southeast Regional Maintenance Center is issuing this Pre-Solicitation Notice to support the upcoming IDIQ for exterior deck covering removal and non-skid installation. Solicitation will be available on or about 16 JUL 2021.
Description of Work: Ship Repair: Exterior deck covering removal and installation on US Naval ships and other Government vessels. The place of performance is Mayport Naval Station, Jacksonville, FL.
Interested parties are required to hold or obtain a Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) Quality Protective Level 1 (QP-1) certification prior to award of any resultant contract. In addition, coating inspectors shall be certified in accordance with the NAVSEA Basic Paint Inspector (NBPI) course, SSPC Protective Coating Inspector Program (PCI), or NACE International Coating Inspector Program (CIP) Level 1 or higher, and have a minimum of 2 years of marine coatings related work experience.
In accordance with FAR Part 19, it has been determined based on the Government's market research; this solicitation will not be able to be set aside for Small Business. The Small Business Representative provided concurrence on 28 APR 2021. The solicitation is full and open to all bidders with the certification requirements as stated above.
