The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract with KIDDE Technologies, Inc. a large business located in Goleta California, pursuant to 10 USC 2402(c)(2) as implemented by FAR 13.501(A)(1)(ii) and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 Limited Sources of Supplies. The system will consist of combinations of bottles of fire suppressant, hoses, fire sensors, wiring harnesses, and mounting hardware. The hardware will be procured in kit form, so that kits may be sent to the theater and installed where the vehicles are deployed. The approximate quantities of kits required for the Buffalo CAT III vehicle is 75 kits, ten (10) spare kits, four (4) sub kits for MK1 Retrofit, one (1) sub kit for spares and 21 test sets. The configuration of the AFES kits will be based on existing designs developed by KDS for installation in the MK1, MK2A1 and new production MK3A2 Buffalo vehicles. As a result of this effort, KIDDE has been determined to be the only responsible source available to satisfy this requirement. All contractors who provide goods/services to DOD must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Online Certifications and representations at (ORCA), http:\orca.bpn.gov, will also be required. Failure to comply with the ORCA registration may result in a vendor being ineligible for award. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal and no formal solicitation package is available. However, interested parties may identify their capability to meet requirements by submitting a white paper, technical data for the items, and past performance data no later than 6 February 2009 to Karen A. Corporal at [email protected]. Responses received by 6 February 2009 will be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this effort on a full and open basis is solely at the discretion of the Government.!
