The following verbiage is directly from the Justification and Approval for sole source and is posted in accordance with FAR 5.102(a)(6).

The LifePak 15 with 360J can provide defibrillation to 100% of people requiring emergency cardiac care who have existing heart complications, or are of extreme heights or weights.

Not purchasing this equipment could result in fatalities if an Emergency Crash Cart does not have appropriate defibrillation equipment for emergency cardiac care to patients requiring 360J of power. Alternative defibrillators cannot provide emergency cardiac care to all people requiring defibrillation-namely people who are extremely tall, short, or overweight. Previous awarded on contracts: W91YTZ-12-P-0191; W91YTZ-13-P-0010.
