THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing intends to award, on a sole source basis, a contract to Cadillac Products Packaging, Co., 5800 Crooks Rd., Troy, MI 48098 for the purchase of 360 rolls of Currency Bundle Film Shrink Wrap (SOl) Stock Item no. lL002038 for the BEP Western Currency Facility.

To ensure continuity of supplies, the BEP requires the purchase of the above quantities while the award decision for the long-term contract for the supply of this material is finalized. The proposed source is currently the only approved supplier for the supply of Currency Packaging Films and has supplied BEP with the film as the most recent supplier. As a result, their product has already been extensively tested and evaluated by BEP for use as currency bundles and cash packs. No other manufacturer has been tested or approved by the BEP. The use of an alternate manufacturer at this time is not feasible due to the extensive BEP evaluation process which can take upward of 90 business days based on press availability and therefore does not demonstrate an advantageous means for the Government to meet the immediate need to obtain the film it requires.

A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit documentation that clearly demonstrates their ability to provide materials needed by the BEP. Responses to this notice shall be received no later than noon Eastern Time March 20, 2015. All responses must be in writing and are to be sent via email to the point of contact specified in this notice.

NOTHING HEREIN SHOULD BE MISCONSTRUED AS A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS, QUOTES OR BIDS. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENTATION IS AVAILABLE NOR WILL BE ISSUED.
