The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with CA, Inc., 2291 Wood Oak Dr., Herndon, VA, 20171 under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.301-1 "Sole Source Acquisitions" for CA MICS Resource Management Analyzer Option for Tape software licenses and software maintenance at 76,000 MIPS.  This will be a modification to SSA's existing contract CA SS00-07-60009.  The first year will include licenses and maintenance thru September 30, 2011. The second and third year of maintenance will be added to SSA's contract with CA SS00-07-60009 with a period of performance from 10/1/11 - 9/30/12 and 10/1/12 - 9/30/13 respectively. 

The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price modification to Contract No. SS00-07-60009 with CA. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill this requirement. A solicitation is not available; therefore, written and/or verbal requests for copies of a solicitation related to this announcement will not be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  This is NOT a Request for Proposal and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted.
