NOTE NEW DATE TO RECEIVE BIDS: Sealed bids will be received by the City of Sioux City, City Clerk at the Customer Service Center located on First Floor in City Hall, 405 Sixth Street, in Sioux City Iowa, until 1:00 P.M., Local Time, May 7, 2024 for the construction of the project, as described in the construction documents. The project is located at six sites throughout the City and includes heavy cleaning, light cleaning, and CIPP lining of approximately 3,000 linear feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer, 1,300 linear feet of 15-inch sanitary sewer, 400 linear feet of 24-inch storm sewer, and 1,300 linear feet of 36-inch sanitary sewer. Bids received will be opened and tabulated at a public meeting, presided over by a City Engineer, in the 4th Floor Clock Tower Conference Room in the Public Works Department, City Hall, at 1:00 P.M., Local Time, on May 7, 2024. Thereafter, bids will be acted upon by the City Council at such time and place as may be fixed. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier’s check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, re-advertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. This project has an early start date of June 3, 2024 and a late start date of July 8, 2024. Work shall be completed within 100 Working Days. Specifications for this project shall be the 2024 version of the Iowa Statewide Urban Standard Specifications for Public Improvements modified in accordance with the 2024 version of the City of Sioux City Supplement. Copies of said construction documents are available at the office of the City Clerk of Sioux City for examination by the public. Construction documents for private use, or potential prime contractors may be obtained online at questcdn.com at no charge, or hard copy from the Purchasing Division, City Hall, upon deposit of fifty dollars ($50) via check or money order for each set.
