Sealed bids will be received by the City of Sioux City, City Clerk, at the Customer Service Center located on First Floor in City Hall, 405 Sixth Street, in Sioux City Iowa, until 1:00 P.M., Local Time, February 25, 2025, for the construction of the project, as described in the construction documents. The project has two sites. Site One is located at the intersection of 12th Street and Floyd Boulevard; Site Two is located on Fairmount Street between Gordon Drive and Leech Avenue. The project includes light cleaning, invert repairing and patching, and spray applied pipe lining of 750 linear feet of 48-inch, 250 linear feet of 60-inch, and 750 linear feet of 72-inch storm sewer. Bids received will be opened and tabulated at a public meeting, presided over by a City Engineer, in the 4th Floor Clock Tower Conference Room in the Public Works Department, City Hall, at 1:00 P.M., Local Time, on February 25, 2025. Thereafter, bids will be acted upon by the City Council at such time and place as may be fixed. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier’s check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, re-advertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. The Notice of Public Hearing will be published in the Sioux City Journal on February 8, 2025 and February 15, 2025. This project has an early start date of March 19, 2025, and a late start date of July 7, 2025. There are two sites for this project. Work shall be completed within 30 Working Days at Site One and work shall be completed within 20 working days at Site Two. Specifications for this project shall be the 2025 version of the Iowa Statewide Urban Standard Specifications for Public Improvements modified in accordance with the 2024 version of the City of Sioux City Supplement. Copies of said construction documents are available at the office of the City Clerk of Sioux City for examination by the public.
