SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE
The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS&IMF) is conducting a market survey to determine the interest and capability of Industry to participate in a competitive acquisition for the service requirement to ground a barge carrying a radioactive and dangerous waste package at the barge slip at the Port of Benton in Richland, Washington, where it will be off-loaded then transported to its final location on the U.S. Department of Energy's Hanford Site. The primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 484220 and the Small Business size standard is $27.5M.
It is anticipated that the Request for Proposal (RFP) will be posted on 21 January 2019. The resulting contract is anticipated to be a single Firm Fixed Price contract type with effective date of 1 April 2019.

The Government intends to set-aside this acquisition to small business. Therefore, result of this notice will determine if small businesses possess the capability to perform the requirements in this acquisition. Respondents need to indicate all small business socioeconomic designations (i.e. 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB). Interested firms that meet the capability requirements identified in this notice are requested to respond to this notice. Based upon small business responses received, consideration will be given to defining what part of the acquisition, if any, will be set-aside for small business competition.
REQUIREMENT INFORMATION:
The requirement is to off-load the NR-1 RCD from a barge located at port of Benton, then haul NR-1 package approximately 26 miles overland to a burial trench, and unload the package from the transporter to its final location in a burial trench at the Hanford Site.
