Work consists of repairing two slump areas in the existing stone protection along the spillway channel at the Old Fort Recreation Area. The two slump areas total 200 linear feet of shoreline. Construction activities include supply and installation of random fill, earthwork shaping of the bank slope in preparation of riprap placement, and supply/installation of quarried Sioux Quartzite Class "C" Riprap. Other work includes but is not limited to removal and re-installation of existing slumped riprap, removal of trees and debris along slope, site restoration and seeding. All work shall be complete by 15 March 2021.
Estimated magnitude of construction is between $25,000 and $100,000.
An organized site visit has been scheduled for—9 September 2020 at 10:00 AM CST. Participants will meet at-- Big Bend Project Administration Office 33573 N Shore Rd, Chamberlain, SD 57325 and then will proceed to the site as a group. Contractors interesting in attending the site visit need to make a reservation with Phil Schroeder at 605-245-1827 by 8 September 2020 at 12:00 PM CST. With respect to CDC guidelines, the site visit will require all participants to wear a face mask if a minimum of 6 feet of physical distance cannot be maintained.
