Consistent with Wisconsin Stat. § 51.4222, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is responsible for establishing 2-3 regional comprehensive opioid and methamphetamine treatment centers. These programs shall offer assessment that includes level of care placement criteria, referral to a full continuum of substance use treatment services including residential level of care, counseling, medication-assisted treatment with opioid partial agonist and antagonist medications, abstinence-based treatment, and service coordination for ongoing care. Following the establishment of three programs in 2015 and a five-year initial grant period, the Opioid Methamphetamine Treatment Center grant is now being reopened for competitive application. The Department of Health Services, represented by the Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS) invites counties, tribal governments, and non-profit agencies to submit proposals for the development and implementation of regional Opioid Methamphetamine Treatment Centers.
