NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD ON A SOLE-SOURCE BASIS:

Pursuant of FAR 6.302-1 "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements," the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Federal Investigative Services Division (FISD) intends to award a sole-source order for the Mainframe upgrade.

 Market research was conducted to determine if anyone other than Chicago Soft LTD could supply the support for its software upgrade on the machine. As such there were no other known viable support solutions for this software product; these products are proprietary in nature and the computer source code is not in the public domain.  The acquisition of these products was done in previous OPM approved contracting actions.  

 The North American Standard Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code for action is 511210 - Computer Mainframe upgrade.  This is not a solicitation for quotations, but rather a notice of the Agency's intent to make a sole-source award to Decision Technology.  There will be no solicitation issued or available.
