An Optical Parametric Amplifier (OPA) that can convert 20-60 fs pulses of 800nm pump to 1140-2600nm pulses. The OPA needs to be able to accept pump pulse energies as high as 20mJ @ 20-30 fs and produce tunable IR pulses of up to several millijoule of energy.
For 10mJ, 800nm Gaussian beam pump at 1 KHz, the energy of hte converted light (Signal + Idler) should be at least 2.5 mJ. The output pulse duration should be 1.2 to 1.5 times the pump pulse width. The time-bandwidth product shoudl be <1.
