This notice is being publicized in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101 requiring Contracting Officers to disseminate information for proposed contract actions expected to exceed $25,000.  Further in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 it is the intent of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to make award to the Dell Computer. 

The intended order will be for a quantity of 63 2GB Memory, Dual Video Card, 80GB Hard Drive, CDRW/DVD Combo with 4 year warranties.  This particular equipment is configured for processing telecommunications intercept data.  The custom equipment is used in conjunction with specialized application software and designed to be used with current hardware/software configurations.  These hardware/software configurations have gone through extensive testing and are the only equipment certified to work with JSI's VoiceBox software. 

As a result Dell Computer is the only responsible source to provide the necessary equipment required by the DEA.
