DPW, Fort Hood, Texas hereby provides notice of its intent to enter into a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order with DARR Equipment Co., 6917 Woodway Dr., Waco, Texas 76712, for the upgrades of the masts on two government owned Caterpillar P5000 forklifts AC Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition has been prepared. Period of performance will be 30 to 45 days after contract is awarded.

The purchase order will be for maintenance and off-site repairs to be performed by a local contractor, authorize contractor for the warranty:

Caterpillar P5000 Forklifts, SN AT3540137, AT3540138

1) The forklifts will be picked up and returned to Building 22041, Sabot Drive, Ft Hood, Texas.
2) Swap out old mast for new (218" triple stage mast with 95" lowered height)
3) Move side shifting carriage to new mast, move forks to new mast
4) Re-plumb all hosing
5) Fix with new data plate reflecting new rated capacity
6) Deliver Finished Trucks back to original location

The proposed contract action will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The NAICS code is 811310. The period of performance is date of award through 15 October 2016. The anticipated award date is 31 August, 2016. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302, only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements.

Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR SOLICITATIONS. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. MICC, Fort Hood will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice of intent. Only written responses will be considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this notice of intent, the Government shall determine whether a solicitation will be issued. Any prospective contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) in order to be eligible for award. Information concerning SAM registered requirements may be viewed via the Internet at http://sam.gov.
