Supplementary construction inspection staff of approximately 4 inspectors under the Engineering District 12-0 Inspector-in-Charge for construction inspection and documentation services. This project is the replacement of the structure carrying PA 356 over Pine Run and Intersection Improvements with SR 4054 (Labelle Vue Road). The project is located in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. The existing arch culvert is approximately 50 feet from the intersection of S.R. 356 and S.R. 4048 (Melwood Road/Hyde Park Road). The existing structure will be replaced with a precast rigid frame culvert. The traffic control and intersection improvement portion of the project will involve reworking the intersection of S.R. 4054 (Labelle Vue Road) and SR 356. The intersection improvements involve the placement of a roundabout at the current intersection for improved flow of traffic between Labelle Vue Road and SR 356. For the roundabout to tie into the existing Labelle Vue Road, alignment adjustments to SR 356 will be necessary. The SR 356/4054 intersection/roundabout will be shifted to the north approximately 50 feet at its greatest point and the southern approach of SR 356 will tie back in approximately 600 feet south of the SR 356/4054 intersection. SR 4054 (Labelle Vue Road) approach will include some slide repair work and will tie back in approximately 600 feet south of the SR 356/4054 intersection. The northern approach of SR 356 will tie back in 500 feet north at the intersection of S.R. 356 and S.R. 4048 (Melwood Road/Hyde Park Road). The signals at the intersection of S.R. 356 and S.R. 4048 will be updated as part of this project. Construction is anticipated March 2023 thru October 2024
