Title: BEREA Painting

Description: Whitney Young Job Corps Center is requesting quotes (RFQ) from a qualified vendor to establish a contract for the purpose painting:

BEREA-The work involves preparation, wall repair and painting the interior of the BEREA at Whitney Young Job Corps Center.  The work will include but not limited to the painting of all interior walls, ceilings and trim.  All interested contractors will take measurements, evaluating and becoming familiar with existing conditions. Questions related to the project may be presented and discussed during walk through.  The following are some of the minimal requirements for completing the project:

1.    Use two coats of Sherwin Williams Pro-Mar 200 in all areas (appropriate type for area).

2.    All rooms will be painted Moderate White (6140) with one accent wall and doors painted Basket Beige (6143).  Stained doors will not be painted

3.    All trim will be painted Thatch Brown (6145)

4.    Ceilings will be painted with CHB flat white.

5.    Move, cover and protect fixtures and furniture.

6.    Remove cove base.

7.    Walls, doors, frames, trim and ceilings will be stain kill, primed or spot primed as needed.

8.    Repair drywall (including but not limited to broken corner beads, broken tape seams, holes in walls, etc.), wash, caulk, putty, sand and scrape all areas as needed.

9.    Remove paint from door handles, hinges etc.

10.  Clean up of paint spills, debris, etc. is mandatory.

11.  For prevailing wage information please visit (Davis Bacon):  WageDeterminationsOnline.gov .

12.  Bond is not required.

13.  Floor plans are not available.

14.  Starting date to be determined.

15.  Building will be occupied during project.

16.  Restroom facilities will be available to contractor.

17.  Staging area will be available for contractor.

I. SPECIFICATIONS

Contractor agrees to provide and comply with the specifications outlined under each of the following provisions:

I.1        Contractor agrees to guarantee the quoted prices during the duration of the            contract.

I.2        Contractor agrees that any additional work shall be subject to the same price determination used in pricing out of this RFQ.                                    

I.3        If an extension is mutually agreed upon, the contractor agrees to extend and apply the same prices quoted for this RFQ during the extension period.

II. INDEMNIFICATION & INSURANCE

The Contractor will agree to indemnify and hold harmless the center operator; the center; and their officers, agents, and employees from any claim, action, lawsuit or liability for injury or damage to any person or property arising out of performance of this proposed agreement. The Contractor will be required to maintain a current liability insurance policy with a limit of at least $1,000,000 per claim, $3,000,000 annual aggregate.

III. CONTRACT TERMINATION

This proposed contract may be terminated by Whitney Young Job Corps Center or Contractor upon thirty (30) days written notice. The notice shall be effective on the same date as duly posted in the United States mail, certified, addressed and postage paid. The notice shall be sent to the affected parties at:
