PAL RSI 50cm Autosampler:
Implement a PAL to evacuate 7-mL vacutainers filled with air to a pressure of <6.5 Torr (gas = N2) with discharge to the atmosphere. Evacuation time of the tubes should be set by time and reaching a specified vacuum pressure (<6.5Torr) and with the ability to select either independently. The system should permit full evacuation of a vacutainer in at least 30 s and the vacuum should be sufficient for the tube to draw in nominally 7 mL of water. The modification would permit the processing of at least 100, 7-mL in a batch. We would prefer that the PAL would evacuate the vacutainer preferably with a 27-gauge Luer needle, however would accept other syringe types and gauges down to 22 . The system would stop if the needle became damaged and the target vacuum could not be reached. Evacuation would be performed using a diaphragm pump.
