The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Medical Center, Butner, North Carolina, intends to issue a firm-fixed price, sole source purchase order to University of North Carolina School of Pathology, Chapel Hill, NC 27517. This non-competitive action is being issued by the Federal Correctional Complex, Butner, NC. The Federal Correctional Complex has a need for Pathology (Autopsies) services at this time. These services will be for the period of October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2012. The Government believes that UNC School Pathology is the only vendor that will satisfy the agency requirement for autopsy of deceased inmates and North Carolina General Statute also provides for this. The NAICS code is 622110. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, as no solicitation document is available. However any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give a written or fax notification to the Contracting Officer within five (5) calendar days from the date of this published synopsis. This is not a request for competitive quotes. This is sole source procurement under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition (FAR 6.302-1). The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
