The U.S. Army Regional Health Contracting Office - Pacific has a requirement for Pathology Testing services for Bassett Army Community Hospital (BACH) on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Specimens for testing include but not limited to: blood, serum, urine, tissue, feces, mucosal, body fluids and spinal fluids. Turnaround time requirements for patient care and patient safety of 24-48 hours is required to meet College of Pathologist (CAP) and Joint Commission. For Clinical Pathology specimens, those specimens that are ordered as STAT need to have a turn-around-time of 1 hour. Breast Tissue-Must be processed within 48 hours - cancer test - If not processed with in time frame test cannot be performed and cancer will not be detected; Fresh or Frozen Tissue Specimens-No Pathologist in facility to process; Cultures attached to Tissue-must be processed within 48 hours and in same facility. All specimens processing and testing shall be completed in accordance with current Joint Commission and College of American Pathologists regulations.
