This requirement is for a PCR thermocycler.  System requirements are as follows:
Must function with a touch screen to ensure a "visual" of the program and promote ease and consistency of use.
Temperature gradient (25 cegrees Celcius across eight rows)
Lid must fit 96x.02mL tubes, 0.2 mL tube strips or a 96-well plate.
Footprint of unit should be 30x50cm or less to fit in available space.
Must accommodate reactions volumes from 1-100uL.
Temperature accuracy should be plus/minus 0.5 degrees Celcius of programmed target, with two modes of temperature controls.
Lid must be a heated lid, with adjustable temperature control and color touch screen display. 
Must include graphical programming with navigation being button-driven. 
Must have memory capacity of a minimum of 400 protocols.
Must be capable of producing detailed reports, including complete documentation of each step of the run, including any errors.
Must have a USB flash drive for protocol transfer and firmware upgrades.
Must have a power failutre protection to enable the unit to resume immediately upon power up with no loss of date in order to maintain sample integrity, and must notify the user of the failure.
