Notice for Request for Qualifications Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) are requested and will be received by the City of Waukegan (“City”), electronically in PDF format via email to [email protected] with a copy to [email protected] until August 2, 2024 at 2:00 pm Central Standard Time (CST) for Phase I Engineering Services for various improvements to ADA compliance and pedestrian access at Waukegan’s downtown transit hub. The City seeks RFQs from a qualified engineering firm(s) (each, a “Prospective Contractor”) to provide Phase I Engineering Services for the design and installation of the following accessibility improvements in the City’s Downtown Transit Hub: (i) a mid-block RRFB crosswalk across Sheridan Road (Route 2736 Class 4) at Madison Street (Local), (ii) painted crosswalks at Washington Street (Route 1223 Class 4) and Sheridan Road, and (iii) realigned curbs and ramps at the intersections to improve pedestrian safety, (iv) left turn pavement markings at Washington Street and Sheridan Road intersection, (v) painted crosswalks at Washington Street and Spring Street (Local) intersection, and (vi) stop signs and stop bars at Washington and Spring intersection (collectively, the “Accessibility Improvements”). Submissions responding to the RFQ (“Responsive Submissions”) will not be opened in public. Responsive Submissions must be submitted via email with the subject title: Phase I Engineering Services for Accessibility Improvements at Waukegan’s Downtown Transit Hub The body of the email must include the name and address of the Prospective Contractor. Responsive Submissions must be addressed to Sam Greene, Assistant Planner, Planning and Zoning Department and must be received before August 2, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Each Prospective Contractor, by submitting a Responsive Submission to provide the aforementioned services, signifies their intention and good faith to enter into a contractor agreement with the City of Waukegan should they be selected. The City reserves the right to reject any and all Responsive Submissions and to make an award on that Responsive Submission which, in its opinion, are most advantageous to the City.
