The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) has a requirement for a Photron Fastcam Mini AX200 compact high-speed camera with high light sensitivity. The camera will be used to record particulate discharging from a ¼" NPT barrel at pressures of 100-1000psi. To acquire video of the ejected particulate for analysis it has been determined that the high speed camera must meet the following specifications:
1. General. A high speed camera should be able to acquire video footage with sufficient resolution and frames per second (fps) for characteristic analysis of particles discharge form a ¼" NPT barrel with pressures of 100-1000psi.
2. Recording capabilities:
a. 1-Megapixel CMOS Image sensor: the high speed camera should be able to record at 1024 x 1024 pixels at 6,400fps.
b. Maximum Frame Rate: Up to 900,000fps (a reduction in pixel count about 6,400fps is expected and acceptable).
c. Light Sensitivity: The camera should have an ISO of at least 40,000 in monochrome. This values must be based on the ISO12232-Ssat standardized index.
d. Dynamic Range (analog to digital conversion): The camera must be 12-bit monochrome for adequate depth of view.
e. Global Electronic Shutter: The camera must have 1ms to 260ns global electronic shutter that is independent of frame rate.
f. Trigger delay: camera should have a trigger delay of 100ns resolution.
3. Internal Recording Memory: the camera should have at least 32GB storage capacity.
4. Physical characteristics
a. Sensor size: Camera must have a sensor size on the order of 20 x 20 mm.
b. Camera lens mount: Camera should have F-mount and C-mount provided.
c. Camera size: the camera should be compact and able to be used in an indoor, low static laboratory environment.
d. Camera mounting: The camera should have mounting options such as a ¼-20 camera mount.
e. Operational temperature: Camera should be able to operate between 32° and 104ºF (0-40ºC)
5. Power supply: Camera should have an AC power supply compatible with 110 VAC with a standard US plug.
Necessary accessories:
6. Camera lens: We require a camera lens that can zoom in on the particulates. Our preference is a zoom wide angle telephoto 24-85mm lens.
7. A lighting kit is required with purchase of the camera to provide sufficient lighting fast shutter speeds required for high resolution recording of ejected particulates and powders. Lighting kit must have:
a. 2 Daylight lights with attached yokes.
b. 12 lenses (2 each@ 10º, 20º, 40º, 60º, 80º, and 10º x 60º).
c. 2 locking detachable power supplies.
d. 2 battery adaptor plate (Gold mount).
e. 2 Zaila barn door sets.
8. Training: 1 day training course for up to 4 CRREL personnel consisting of camera operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and video software tutorial.
Please reference the attached RFQ for applicable provisions and clauses. The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: ability to meet the required technical specifications and price.
Please provide responses to this notice, no later than Thursday 11 April 2019, 12:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time (EST) to:
